Overseas medications

• 1/2 of the worlds population is in Asia.  If the pharmaceutical manufacturer chooses to sell an inferior product in this market the CEO should be sacked yesterday.

Several US cities have chosen to purchase their 'group health insurance medications' outside the US.

• Multinational companies do not sell different quality meds outside the US!  'Same same' my friends!

• To contend that Ely Lilly or Pfizer manufacture special inferior pharmaceuticals for non US consumption is not reasonable!

  • To contend that the only quality med in the world are in the US is ridiculous.

• To contend that major multinational company's CEOs & boards of directors are "Enron like" amoral sneak thieves..

  • Right?....uuum. maybe basing a point on the morality of multinational corporate management is not good either!

  • But why would the company sell second quality meds it has the patent on? 

    • It is not cost effective for Ely Lilly to manufacture second quality patented medications.

      • 2 production lines, American & foreign .. I think not!

    • Is it contended that Intel sells inferior chips overseas or that Ford manufactures an inferior truck for Asia?

      • Almost seems libelous for public figures to make such statements.

      • If true there should be criminal indictments.

    • If Lily & Pfizer et al want to sell in Asia ( 1/2 the world population! ) they had best provide quality medical products at competitive ( non- price protected pricing ) or they will not be successful marketing in that internationally savvy region.

      • If the patented medication distributor sells an inferior product it's sales internationally will dry up in a heart beat!

      • 'Generic  Indian' ( usually patent infringing ) medications are REAL CHEAP

      • & usually these 'knock off' meds are quality comparable alternatives.

      • & MIGHT be sold as patented quality at a smaller pharmacy.

        • The third world's "less economically blessed citizens" will switch to patent infringing meds if inferior meds are provided by the pharmaceutical patent holder.

        • & The multinational pharmaceutical companies want to sell in this huge emerging market.

        • It's called 'open unprotected competition' & the medication market in the Asian third world is definitely competitive.

          • Enjoy this cut throat price completion on a shopping excursion to the Mo Chit Vendor Market not the pharmacy. 

            • Incredible shopping opportunities abound in Thailand.

            • Thailand is Shopping paradise. ( outside site ) 

            • Shopping venues abound, however  the best quality product & optimized deals are at only a few non tourist locations.  ( Similar to medical options! :-)

      • Thailand is the Asian 3rd world & purchasing medications at small pharmacies is not recommended.

    • Purchase your meds at the larger Thai Medical Center Hospitals ( Bumrungrad, Bangkok General, Chula .. ) Pharmacy to be assured of highest quality original patent holder meds.

      • Stick with the major hospitals to ensure quality patented medications.

      • There is way more 'counterfeit merchandise' of all varieties in Thailand than in the west.

        • "Knock off expensive watches & designer accessories" are available seemingly everywhere.

        • MBK alone has dozens of  vendors selling 'every brand of imitation expensive watch' for less than 1000tbt .. up to 10,000tbt.. all virtually indistinguishable from the originals.

        • Let the buyer beware is something to always remember while in Thailand. .. pay attention & if it's too good to be true it might be!
